Caravaggio’s wonderful painting “Adoration of the Shepherds”, exhibited at the Regional Museum of Messina, is exceptionally restored within the spaces of the Chamber of Deputies. The work, located inside the Punto Camera in Via del Parliament, is restored by Valeria Merlini and Daniela Storti every day under the eyes of the public. The works will be directed by Dr. Gioacchino Barbera, Director of the Regional Museum of Messina and by the ISCR Higher Institute for Conservation and Restoration. The initiative is promoted by the Chamber of Deputies, and desired by the Sicily Region supported thanks to the contribution of a single Sponsor, Fastweb, which will also offer the public the possibility of booking, through the website www.fastweb.it, a visit to the “building site open” during the entire restoration period. Also through the site you can be updated on the progress of the work, follow in real time the processing of the scientific data produced and find news and information on the painting, its history and the brilliant artist who painted it. The work carried out by the technicians will be filmed in all its phases and broadcast outside via screens in Parliament Square.
