Archivio del (Futuro)

Archivio del (Futuro) is the story of a journey through real and imaginary time, between the past and the near future, generating from the fusion of collective memory with the personal and intimate. It involved 44 young students between 14 and 18 years old from 8 high schools in Rome who challenged themselves in a creative competition. After having familiarized themselves with the world of archives, with the help of professionals, they put their experience and their emotions into practice and created a text destined to become a film script.

Each school that joined the project presented its own team. All the teams had to attend a training course in various archives as well as a script and film directing training with the film director Gianluca Santoni and the screenwriter Michela Straniero. Then, they had to face each other in a stimulating competition. After an inevitable selection done by a jury made of professionals working in cultural fields such as cinema, art, literature and music, the winner was chosen: the team from the Liceo Classico Mameli with the screenplay “Quella canzone sei tu” won the competition and the team, under the guidance of Gianluca Santoni, made a short film.

Archivio del (Futuro) is a project promoted by La Quadriennale di Roma, conceived and curated by Studio Merlini-Storti with the contribution of the Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri – Struttura di missione anniversari nazionali ed eventi sportivi nazionali e internazionali.
